Asphalt Paving
Drive lanes, parking and driveways that tie into your concrete.
Asphalt pavingDriveways, sidewalks, curb and gutter, approaches, patios and slabs, formed, poured and finished by a crew that also grades and paves. Your concrete ties cleanly into the rest of the site.
Ochoa Grading & Paving pours residential and commercial concrete throughout Southern California. We handle the excavation, base, forms, reinforcement, pour and finish ourselves, so grades and drainage work together across the whole property.
A new concrete driveway, walkway or patio adds value and curb appeal to your home. We grade for drainage away from the house, compact the base, and place control joints so cracking is controlled, not random.
For commercial properties, HOAs and general contractors, we install curb and gutter, sidewalks, approaches, valley gutters and pads. Because we also do asphalt paving and grading, concrete and asphalt meet at the right elevations, with no ponding at the seams.
Concrete typically lasts longer and needs less routine maintenance, while asphalt costs less up front and is quicker to repair. Many sites use both, with concrete for curbs, gutters, aprons and high-stress areas and asphalt for drive lanes and parking. We'll help you choose what fits your budget and use.
Every property is different, so we price each job after an on-site look. These are the main things that affect the cost:

Foot traffic is usually fine after about 24 to 48 hours. For passenger vehicles, we generally recommend waiting about 7 days, and longer for heavy vehicles, since concrete continues to gain strength over its first 28 days.
All concrete shrinks as it cures, so some cracking is normal. We control it with a properly compacted base, the right thickness and reinforcement, and control joints placed so cracks form in straight, planned lines.
Yes. We remove and replace cracked or lifted sidewalk panels, curbs and gutters for homeowners, HOAs and commercial properties.
Work in the public right-of-way, such as driveway approaches and city curbs, usually requires a city encroachment permit. Ask us about your project and city, and we'll explain what's needed.
